Samsung Galaxy A54: Everything you need to know

Samsung’s Galaxy A-series smartphones are often a good balance of performance and price. The newest generation of the series, comprising the Samsung Galaxy A53 5G and Samsung Galaxy A33 5G, was launched in March 2022. Almost a year later, we’re hearing rumors regarding the A54.

So far, this is all we know about the Samsung Galaxy A54.

When is the Samsung Galaxy A54 release date?

The Galaxy A54 does not yet have an official release date, although it might be soon.

When Samsung India announced the introduction of an unknown A-series phone in January, there were short optimism, but this turned out to be the combined launch of the A14 and A23.

Nonetheless, given that the prior versions all debuted in the spring, a launch is probable shortly.

When Samsung India announced the introduction of an unknown A-series phone in January, there were short optimism, but this turned out to be the combined launch of the A14 and A23.

Nonetheless, given that the prior versions all debuted in the spring, a launch is probable shortly :

  • Samsung Galaxy A53 5G – March 2022
  • Samsung Galaxy A52 5G – March 2021
  • Samsung Galaxy A51 – April 2020

As you can see, the best bet is that the Galaxy A54 will arrive in March/April 2023.

How much will the Samsung Galaxy A54 cost?

At the time of writing, there is no definite pricing for the Galaxy A54, just like there is no known release date. Once again, we may turn to its forefathers to discover what the cost might be. Here’s how they arranged themselves:

  • Samsung Galaxy A53 5G – $449/£399/€449
  • Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G – $499/£399/€459
  • Samsung Galaxy A52 – $499/£399/€459
  • Samsung Galaxy A51 – $399/£329/€399

Based on these relatively stable costs, we predict the Galaxy A54 to cost around the same as the A53 5G.

What will the Samsung Galaxy A54 specs and features be?

As you may have guessed, Samsung has yet to make any type of announcement about the Galaxy A54, so we must rely on speculations and prior performance to figure this out. However, several rumors have surfaced, speculating on what the new technology may be capable of.

A mockup from OnLeaks and 91Mobiles shows the purported A54 with triple rear cameras and a punch hole camera in the center, but no camera island, just three bumps where the lenses are – eerily similar to the S22 Ultra design, which is believed to be featured across the forthcoming Galaxy S23 series.

The leaker further claims that the phone would have a 6.4-inch display and dimensions of 158.3 x 76.7 x 8.2mm.

Android Headlines has posted a collection of A54 renderings that hint at the various colors, including black, green, white and a faint purple.

Another leaker, Evan Blass, or aka evleaks, showed the display again, this time with a touch of a pale green finish. He posted photographs of two phone screens with only one word: “Awesome.” That’s the iconic slogan for the Galaxy A-series, and given that the other phone sports a teardrop notch rather than a punch-hole, it appears that this is the A54.

In terms of specifications, the A54 has already appeared on the benchmark Geekbench, where it scored 776 in the single-core test and 2,599 in the multi-core test – respectable numbers for a mid-ranger, and a big improvement over the 1,833 multi-core score we got while assessing the A53.

The listing shows that the phone runs Android 13 (no surprise there) and has 6GB of RAM, but we’d anticipate at least an 8GB option at launch. The chipset is referred to as the S5E8835, and it is most likely the successor of the Exynos 1280, dubbed the Exynos 1380. With a Mali G68 GPU, the CPU appears to have four 2.4GHz performance cores and four 2.0GHz efficiency cores.

Galaxy Club has obtained some further information regarding the phone’s specifications. First and foremost, it will reportedly switch to a 50Mp primary camera, which may appear to be a step down from the A53’s 64Mp shooter, but in actuality it is likely to have a superior sensor and lens.

According to the website, the phone would have a somewhat bigger battery with a claimed capacity of 4905mAh. That has subsequently been verified, as the phone’s FCC certification docs include the actual battery capacity, as well as the fact that it would come with a 25W charger (the same speed as the A53).

The A53 battery was rated for 4860mAh and promoted as a standard 5000mAh battery, therefore the A54 will most likely be labeled with either 5050mAh or 5100mAh. It’s not much of a change, but every little bit helps.

That’s all we have thus far, but we’ll keep you updated when additional information becomes available. Check back frequently to see what we discover.
