Every sports fan understands the difficulty of finding the latest scores and info. It’s from important events. Even famous places like the ESPN app might make it hard to get the info you want. This is especially true if you follow many teams in different leagues. Me? I generally end up Googling the scores for each game.

The Apple Sports app is for iPhone. It’s Apple’s new place for keeping sports fans up to date. They can see the status of their favorite teams and leagues. It offers a free way to get sports scores in real time. It also offers play-by-play info, lineup data, and live betting odds. These are all shown on a simple layout. You arrange them based on the events you care about most.

Apple claims that consumers may turn off live betting odds in settings at any time. You’ll see the moneyline, over/under, and spread, but you can’t click to bet. Apple Sports will first show scores and data from the NBA, NHL, NCAA, Premier League, and MLS. These leagues all start their seasons on February 21. As a reminder, Apple runs MLS Season Pass. It is an Apple TV-based streaming service for live soccer matches and related content.

When the MLB, WNBA, and NFL seasons return, their scores will also be accessible on Apple Sports. However, we currently have no information on how Apple plans to market its new app. We also don’t know if Apple will market it with the Paris Olympics 2024. Assuming you follow teams in a supported league, you’ll be able to track live scores. You can also organize your view by league and team. Then, during games, you may keep track of your favorite teams with a Live Activity on your home screen. However, if you explore the app more, you can view yesterday’s scores and data. You can also see today’s match schedule and what to expect for the rest of the week.

The app is now available for iPhone from the software Store. But, make sure you know how to update your iPhone to the recent iOS version. It should be at least iOS 17.2. The app has no version for the Apple Watch, iPad, or Apple TV yet. But, all three seem to be obvious progressions for Apple Sports in the future. In the meanwhile, the Apple Sports app has an Apple TV connection. Every live game has an Apple TV button. When you tap it, it takes you to Apple’s streaming platform. If the game is accessible on Apple TV Plus (for example, MLS or Friday Night Baseball), you may watch it right away. Otherwise, Apple TV will send you to the streaming app.

The Apple Sports app supports users in the U.S., the U.K., and Canada. It supports English, French, and Spanish where available.
