How to watch the Champions League live

It's Europe's biggest club competition

The 2023-24 Champions League season is already begun, but can an English club triumph once more?

Manchester City begin as holders for the first time, having defeated Inter Milan in June to clinch a historic triple. Pep Guardiola’s team is one of the favorites to defend their championship, but they will face stiff opposition from Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Barcelona, and PSG.

Arsenal return to the Premier League for the first time since the 2016/17 season, while Manchester United return after a one-year sabbatical. But it’s been 20 years since Newcastle last played, and they’ve been rewarded with a group that includes PSG, Borussia Dortmund, and AC Milan.

Here’s how to watch every Champions League match live, whether you’re based in the US, UK or elsewhere in the world.

Although BT Sport has been renamed as TNT Sports, it still maintains exclusive rights to the Champions League in the United Kingdom. In terms of available plans, not much has changed.

How to watch the Champions League outside the US and UK

Before trying to watch US or UK TV from overseas, find out which network has the Champions League rights where you live. On the UEFA website, you may find a complete list of international broadcasters.

However, if you’re only visiting another country, it makes sense to connect to your US or UK subscription, which necessitates the use of a VPN. For the sake of this lesson, we’ll be using NordVPN, although there are many of excellent choices in our best VPN chart.

1-Download the relevant VPN app

Head to the download page for the VPN you’d like to install and click ‘Download App’. The likes of NordVPN are available on a range of devices.

2-Connect to a US or UK server

Open the app and, if necessary, login in to your account. Then, choose a server in the United States or the United Kingdom and connect to it.

It may appear somewhat different depending on the service you’re using. However, this should be quite straightforward to locate.

3-Start watching as usual

To begin watching, go to your normal website or app. You should be able to stream material normally and without restriction now.

If you simply want to use the VPN for football, you may want to consider free VPN, although there may be bandwidth constraints.
