This summer, at the airport, I had to check my own baggage using a self-service system. I didn’t do the best job attaching the label to my suitcase because I wasn’t an airport employee and was also extremely tired.
The conveyer belt suddenly jerked into action, and I was forced to watch as my poorly labeled bag vanished.
I spent the rest of the flight marveling at my inability to stick a label on a bag handle and wishing I had purchased some AirTags so I could know if my suitcase had arrived with me.
So that’s what I’m going to buy today, while they’re on sale for Prime Day.
In the United Kingdom, Apple charges £35 per AirTag or £119 for a four-pack. In the United States, Apple sells a single AirTag for $29 or a four-pack for $99.
But if you buy from Amazon UK today, you can get a single AirTag for £28 (or two for £56), saving you a comfortable 20%. If you can spend a little more, you can get a four-pack of AirTags for £84, down from £119, saving you more than 29%.
On Amazon US, you’ll save 31% on every AirTag you buy, from $29 to $19.99 each.
You will also receive free delivery. Keep in mind that you won’t be able to use Apple’s free engraving service, but as AirTags are typically most effective when concealed, I don’t see this as a significant loss.
To obtain the deal, you’ll need a Prime membership. Prime Day is from October 7 to 8, so don’t wait too long if you want them.
AirTags are quite useful. Not only for airport security, but also to track adventurous pets and cats, protect expensive handbags or wallets from theft, or attach to your keys if you frequently misplace them.
If you own an iPhone or iPad, you can use an AirTag; however, some earlier devices are incompatible. You will require an iPhone SE, iPhone 6s, or a subsequent model iPhone; an iPod touch (7th generation) with iOS 14.5 or later; or an iPad Pro, iPad (5th generation or later), iPad Air 2 or later, or iPad mini 4 or later with at least iPadOS 14.
