Nothing Phone (3) leak confirms no Glyph, but where’s the dot-matrix display?

A leaked photograph of the Nothing Phone (3) provides our finest look yet at Nothing’s sleek new flagship smartphone, but something looks to be missing.

We’ve heard directly from the source that Nothing is getting rid of its signature Glyph lighting scheme (good riddance), and this leaked image render from journalist Max Jambor appears to confirm that.

There are no flashy lights to be seen in the following image.

Enter the dot-matrix

However, we’ve also heard that Nothing intends to replace the Glyph system with a new dot-matrix lighting technology on the rear of the phone. If that is present in the revised render, we are not seeing it.

The smartphone shown in this image resembles earlier Nothing phones, such as the current Nothing Phone (3a) Pro, and has a familiar semi-transparent design. There appears to be no area for any additional lights, unless they are hidden under the rear cover.

The Asus ROG Phone 9 Pro gaming phone featured a stealthy dot-matrix display that appeared only when active. Such a clause is not out of the question in this context.

Nothing Phone (3) design and potential specs

Other noticeable design elements include a subdued camera module. The aforementioned Nothing Phone (3a) Pro had a conspicuous circular camera module, while this one appears flat.

Only the individual camera mountings stand out from the rear of the phone.

Nothing CEO Carl Pei previously disclosed that the Nothing Phone (3) would cost around £800. As the title implies, it’s shaping up to be the company’s “first true flagship smartphone,” with “premium materials, major performance upgrades, and software that really levels things up.”

The Nothing Phone (3) will be available on July 1, 2025, at 6pm BST (UK time).
