Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 Ti review: DLSS 3 and Ada power for less than 1000 dollars

    This model does not come with a Founder Edition from Nvidia. So we put a Gigabyte GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Eagle OC 12G graphics card to the test. The brand’s overclocking is fairly modest here, with the boost frequency ranging from 2610 MHz to 2625 MHz. Not enough to impact the magnitudes of our findings.

    The inclusion of a latest generation NVENC double encoder is a pleasant surprise with this GeForce RTX 4070 Ti ( AV1 included ). This may have been one of Nvidia’s concessions to reduce range, but not on this model. This translates to a graphics card that can encode video twice as quickly in the most common formats ( H.264, HEVC, etc ).

    The use of AV1 ensures the product’s endurance; it is the new video format that will predominate in the next years.


    Contrary to popular belief about visual maps, one of Nvidia’s strengths with Ada Lovelace is in consumption management.

    The maximum power consumption of the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti is 285W, which is the same as the GeForce RTX 3070 Ti. However, the power disparity between the two generations is more than palpable. In this class, Nvidia actually provides substantially higher graphics capacity for same consumption without delivering any energy savings.
