Samsung One UI 7, Android 15-based operating system, was slated to emerge this week on November 17, however the deadline has passed with no trace of beta. According to a recent source, the long-awaited Android version may not be released until December.
The new postponement comes from X user FamilyTaes (via Android Central), who reports that Samsung is moving the beta back to the first week of December for S24 phones. Additionally, beta access for the Galaxy S23 lineup would be delayed by two to three weeks, with the S22 series potentially missing out entirely.
They further claim that the beta program will last two months, with the final version issued in February of next year.
Concerned respondents questioned whether the Galaxy S25 series, which is set to ship in January, will even include the most recent version of One UI. FamilyTaes claims that the delays have not affected S25 development and that it will launch with version 7.1, followed by 8.0 when Android 16 is released early next year. Android 16 is scheduled for release in April 2025.
This information was allegedly obtained by Ice Universe, a well-known Samsung leaker, who stated on Weibo that Samsung discovered problems in the code that needed to be fixed. We only have a screenshot and some machine translation to show the code issue, but it also claims a December 12th release date.
Will Samsung even release a beta of this amazing UI overhaul? During the Samsung Developers Conference in early October, the firm made the formal announcement of One UI 7. At the time, it was stated that the full version will be released alongside the S25.
However, the beta has been delayed for months and shows no signs of surfacing, raising the issue of whether it will be released alongside next year’s flagship smartphones.
Alleged new One UI 7 features
Speaking of Ice Universe, they announced a lot of new features on X this week, which will be showcased during the legendary beta period.
These include new animations for unlocks, apps, settings, transitions, moving apps, and more. They stated that additional animations would be provided from there.
Exclusively reveal the animation improvements of One UI 7 approaching Beta version:
The screen-on animation is a soothing wallpaper shrinking effect
The unlocking animation is a bouncing effect
The pull-down animation adds a spring rebound animation

This redesign of the One UI interface is designed to be more fluid and faster, with animations that make it easier to use and, apparently, more enjoyable.
Last year, the One UI 6 update was released in November, followed by the massive 6.1.1 upgrade in September, which added a lot of Galaxy AI capabilities to earlier Samsung devices.
As Samsung supposedly struggles to wrangle the next edition of One UI, we’re curious what the Galaxy S25 will be like when it’s unboxed.
At the very least, it will be a significantly more powerful gadget, powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite processor and topped with the One UI 6 overlay. At worst, it’ll be that plus a flaky mess dubbed One UI 7.
We’ll have to wait until January 23rd to find out.
