CONTEXT
The Apple Vision Pro, announced in June 2023, is the company’s first mixed reality headgear, also known as a spatial computer.
You can only operate the gadget with your eyes, hands, and voice. Apple, unlike its competitors, does not employ controllers. The operating system, visionOS, is compatible with a million iOS and iPadOS apps. In addition, there will be a new App Store featuring Vision Pro-exclusive content.
At debut, Apple promises a suite of work apps, a digital large screen and immersive video for entertainment, as well as flat and spatial games.
“The era of spatial computing has arrived,” declared Tim Cook, CEO of Apple. “Apple Vision Pro is the most sophisticated consumer electronics product ever developed. Its new and stunning user interface will change the way we communicate, create, and explore.
