When the DJI Pocket 2 debuted in 2020, it was an instant hit, swiftly becoming the go-to camera for vloggers and video makers alike. But, almost three years after the Pocket 2 was introduced, it’s time for an upgrade to DJI Osmo Pocket 3.
A fresh leak on X (previously Twitter) from @Quadro_News claims that the DJI Osmo Pocket 3 is approaching release, and it’s shaping up to be a substantial boost over its predecessor. Here’s all we know so far about the Pocket 3:
The Pocket 3’s most notable enhancement is its new 1-inch camera sensor. This is a significant improvement over the 1/1.7-inch sensor present in the Pocket 2, and it should result in significantly higher image quality, particularly in low light and high ISO scenarios.
The Osmo Pocket 3 will also be capable of recording 4K video at 120 frames per second, which is twice as fast as the Pocket 2. This makes it great for filming slow-motion video. Furthermore, the Osmo Pocket 3 will offer 10-bit D-Log M color mode, giving users greater options in post-production.
The redesigned 2-inch rotatable display is another new feature on the Pocket 3. This display can be moved to the front or rear of the camera, making it easier to film from various perspectives. Furthermore, the display may be utilized as a shortcut to begin video recording.
The Osmo Pocket 3 will, of course, have the same 3-axis gimbal stabilization mechanism as the Pocket 2. This technique will keep your film smooth and steady even if you’re shooting on the fly.
With the Osmo Pocket 3, DJI also promises better tracking capabilities. The new ActiveTrack 6.0 technology should make tracking moving subjects easier, especially in difficult situations.
Finally, the Osmo Pocket 3 will include three built-in microphones for stereo audio recording. These microphones will also be capable of reducing wind noise, making them perfect for outdoor use.
In addition to its specifications, the source has revealed the Osmo Pocket 3’s release date. According to @Quadro_News, the gadget will be presented on October 25th at 9:00 AM EDT (6:30 PM IST).
