The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra is likely to receive a number of design modifications, but how different will the phone look? New leaked photographs supposedly show the Galaxy S24 Ultra next to the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, highlighting design changes and the all-new titanium chassis.
The photographs were initially posted on the Taiwanese blog Sogi, but have since been removed. They appear to show the S24 Ultra and S23 Ultra from the side and bottom, giving us an indication of the modifications we may expect. The S23 Ultra is black, whereas the S24 seems to be beige.
At first sight, the two phones don’t appear to be very different, albeit the metal frame is clearly a new material. The frame of the Galaxy S24 Ultra is made of metal with a glittering look, comparable to the titanium frame of the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max. It also seems smoother and may have smoother edges, however this might be a lighting effect.
The S24 Ultra also seems somewhat thicker, as shown by the volume rocker and power buttons. The camera lenses protrude visibly as well, though we don’t anticipate that to alter in the next year. We will still be getting the separate lenses Galaxy Ultra phones have had for the past few years, rather than a unified module.
Finally, the S24 Ultra appears to have significantly flatter edges, but the S23 Ultra appears to have rounder-looking corners. The titanium frame will undoubtedly make the S24 Ultra seem more premium, especially in terms of weight, but it’s unknown how much (or how little) comfort the new edges will provide.
We’ve seen leaked renderings of what the Galaxy S24 Ultra may look like, but it’s good to see what appear to be actual photos of the gadget. While we can’t be certain that these photographs are genuine just yet, we don’t have long to wait for the formal announcement.
The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra is expected to launch in mid-January, possibly on January 17.
