The Galaxy S27 series isn’t launching until next year, but leaks are already piling up — and the latest one points to a fifth model joining the lineup.
Samsung is already expected to bring the flagship range back to four phones with the Galaxy S27 Pro, which will sit alongside the S27, S27+, and S27 Ultra. Now, a new tipster claims a fifth device — the Galaxy S27 Edge — is also in the works.
That would mark the return of Samsung’s ultra-slim handset, first introduced as the Galaxy S25 Edge but left out of the S26 lineup this year after being repeatedly cancelled and rescheduled.
According to leaker kro, the Galaxy S27 Edge — Samsung’s answer to the iPhone Air — could be even thinner, landing in the “low 4mm range.” That would make it over 1mm slimmer than the 5.8mm Galaxy S25 Edge.
The leak also claims the Galaxy S27 Edge will feature a 5.8-inch display — notably smaller than the S25 Edge’s 6.7-inch screen. It’s presumably still an AMOLED panel, though it’s unclear whether Samsung will carry over the Privacy Display tech introduced with the Galaxy S26 Ultra.
According to kro, the Galaxy S27 Edge will also pack a larger battery, coming in at roughly 4,300mAh compared to the S25 Edge’s 3,900mAh. Given the thinner design and smaller body suggested by the reduced screen size, Samsung will likely need Silicon-Carbon battery technology to fit a bigger cell into a tighter frame.

That’s all the information, which leaves plenty of questions, including what processor the phone will use (Qualcomm or Samsung’s own Exynos) as well as the price and the release date.
Judging by the Galaxy S25 Edge’s launch pattern, its successor may arrive later than the rest of the Galaxy S27 range. Samsung is expected to unveil the S27 lineup at a Galaxy Unpacked event in January or February 2027, with the Galaxy S27 Edge potentially following a few months later. May would line up with the S25 Edge’s launch, which was teased alongside the rest of the S25 series before arriving separately.
Factor in a likely Galaxy S27 FE — expected to replace the newly announced Galaxy S26 FE around this time next year — and Samsung could end up launching six S27 models in total.
