    Apple has announced the Apple Watch Series 9, which has a useful double-tap function.

    Apple unveiled the Apple Watch Series 9 on Tuesday at its Wonderlust event, and it will ultimately incorporate a brand-new double-tap gesture.

    One of the most significant modifications is the addition of a new S9 SiP (System in Package). The CPU contains 5.6 billion transistors, a 30% faster GPU, and a four-core neural engine. This results in enhancements such as Siri queries being handled on the device. A second-generation ultra wideband chip is also included in the watch to aid in accurate locating with your iPhone. Another enhancement is a brighter display: Apple claims it can reach 2000 nits, which is double the maximum brightness of the Series 8.

    The Series 9 also has a “double-tap” function that allows you to perform things like answer a phone call by tapping your index finger and thumb together. It’s comparable to the tapping capability shown off by Apple with the Apple Vision Pro. And Apple already has something similar in the form of AssistiveTouch. The double-tap capability will be included in an October software update.

    The Apple Watch Series 9 will be available in pink, starlight, silver, midnight, and product red aluminum, and gold, silver, and graphite stainless steel. The Apple Watch Series 9 will be available for purchase on Tuesday. It will be released on September 22nd. It begins at $399.

    Apple is also advertising certain environmental enhancements for the Apple Watch. When combined with a new Sport Loop band, the business claims it is Apple’s first carbon-neutral product, and the thinner packaging allows it to ship more devices at once.

    The Series 9 is the successor to last year’s Apple Watch Series 8, which had a mainly incremental upgrade that introduced temperature sensors and Crash Detection, as well as the Apple Watch Ultra, a more durable wristwatch with some substantial modifications, such as a larger screen and a separate Action Button.
