Oppo Find X7: Everything you need to know

Oppo, a Chinese business, has always been at the forefront of smartphone innovation.

The company has launched numerous foldables, but it is also experimenting with traditional handsets. This is especially evident in its flagship Find X line, which combines cutting-edge style with functionality.

The 2023 Find X6 and X6 Pro were only available in China. However, this came after the superb Find X5 Pro and Find X3 Pro, which were both introduced internationally.

How widespread will the Find X7 release be, and what can we expect from the upcoming phones? Here’s everything you need to know.

When will the Oppo Find X7 be released?

We don’t have any clear information on the Find X7 phones’ release date, but we can make some educated guesses. When did its predecessors come out?

  • Oppo Find X5 – February 2022 (available worldwide)
  • Oppo Find X6 – March 2023 (available only in China)

Given the release dates of previous models, we expect the Oppo Find X7 to be unveiled in Q1 of 2024.

However, it is unclear whether a possible Find X7 or X7 Pro will be released outside of China. It’s hard to know for sure at this point.

How much will the Oppo Find X7 cost?

We also don’t know the price of the new Oppo Find X7 phones at this time. Here’s how their predecessors were priced when they first came out:

However, given the uncertain economic conditions since Oppo’s last flagship phone was released outside of China, it’s difficult to predict how much Find X7 phones will cost.

Nonetheless, it would be surprising if Oppo deviated far from Find X5 pricing, so anticipate something in the region of £749/€999 for the basic model and £1,049/€1,299 for the Pro.

The Find X7 Pro is rumoured to be similar to the Find X6 Pro

What specs and features will the Oppo Find X7 have?

Oppo Find X7

The Find X7 is considered to be the normal Find X7, according to an October Geekbench 6 listing. While not specifically mentioned, GSMArena believes the chipset would be MediaTek’s Dimensity 9300 rather than Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.

This may come as a surprise given that the Find X6 Pro is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor.

Oppo, on the other hand, revealed in October at the Snapdragon Summit that their “future flagship smartphone will be one of the first to feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Mobile Platform.” Either it doesn’t pertain to the Find X7, or the aforementioned rumour is false.

We can be certain of one characteristic given in the Geekbench 6 listing: 16GB of RAM, at least on one of the variants. It was the highest-spec Find X6 Pro, with a 12GB model also available.

A score of 2139 points in the Geekbench 6 single-core test and 7100 points in the multi-core test for the Find X7 is excellent.

Oppo Find X7 Pro

There is no clear information available about the Find X7 Pro’s chipset. However, if the rumor regarding the standard model’s Dimensity 9300 is correct, the Pro will most likely follow suit.

Initially, it appeared that the OPPO Find X7 Pro would be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 engine, but a new Geekbench listing of the Find X7 suggests that the Pro variant would also have the MediaTek Dimensity 9300 chipset.

The Weibo tipster Digital Chat Station suggested in June that the phone will have a “ultra-narrow” curved screen and an IP68 water and dust resistant grade.

The same leaker hinted in July that a forthcoming Find X7 Pro would include a periscope camera, curved screen with 2K resolution, and 50W wireless charging. However, none of them will be upgrades because they are already available on the Find X6 Pro.

Mess With Assen, a leaker, made various allegations about the display and camera in August. A Samsung E6 2K LTPO screen with 2,500 nits of peak brightness, a 32Mp IMX709 selfie camera, a 50Mp IMX989 primary camera, and both ultrawide and periscope cameras with an IMX890 sensor are among the promises. These parameters are similar with the Find X6 Pro, although the leaker stated lens and aperture modifications.

In September, Digital Chat Station provided claimed that the Find X7 Pro would retain a 50Mp, 3x periscope camera with a 1/1.5-inch sensor size.

Digital Chat Station posted a schematic picture of what looks to be an Oppo Find X7 Pro in October. The picture shows the phone’s front and back, showcasing a quad rear camera system with a periscope lens.

The camera configuration is circular in shape, with three vertically aligned lenses and a fourth camera to the left. There’s also a punch-hole cut-out in the center of the front, a power button on the right, and volume controls on the left.

That’s all we’ve seen so far, but be sure to check back as we’ll be updating this article as we discover more information.
