A reasonable price on a flagship wristwatch could be around $100 off, but Samsung will give you the Galaxy Watch 6 for free.
When you purchase a Galaxy Watch 6 from the official Samsung shop, you may receive a second one for free (BOGOF). There is no requirement for a promotional code or anything like, and the terms and conditions are minimal.
The deal is available on both the 40mm and 44mm editions of the Watch 6 smartwatch, and you can choose between Bluetooth and Wi-Fi or Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and 4G LTE versions with a variety of colors and bands, saving you up to $379.99.
Update 13 May: Although Samsung’s initial Mother’s Day Special has concluded, you may still get a second Galaxy Watch 6 for free. You may find it under the ‘Limited time package deals’ area. The deal isn’t functioning at the time of writing (12pm ET) – it seems OK on the website but the basket then charges for both – but a Samsung Expert via the chat feature told me: “I’m sorry, owing to a technical issue, the free watch is being charged; please try again in 2-3 hours. We have escalated the problem to our team, and it will be resolved as soon as possible.”
There are only really two small caveats to consider…
The first is understandable: if you pick two different Watch 6 models, the cheaper one will be free.
The other issue is that the deal looks to be incompatible with trade-in credit, so you won’t be able to purchase two 40mm Watch 6 devices for $99 by trading in an Apple Watch Series 8.
A third point to consider, which is not a condition of the agreement, is that Samsung plans to release the Galaxy Watch 7 in July.
You may wish to wait for the latest model and the improvements it provides. The Galaxy Watch 6’s price will most certainly reduce once it becomes an old model, but this buy one, get one free deal is still a great value.
