We’ve all seen the renders and dummy units displaying the, shall we say, “interesting” redesigns of the iPhone 17 Pro and other series.
Those enlarged camera bars are clearly an option, and those of you holding out hope that they are all elaborate fakes are soon to be disappointed.
First look at some cases for the new iPhone 17 Pro — wow, that camera hole is huge! Apple’s really turning heads with this design. pic.twitter.com/IKJ4DqksCE

Leaker Sonny Dickson has posted some photographs of what he believes to be the iPhone 17 Pro. These cases, as predicted by a series of design leaks earlier this year, include extremely big cuts to accommodate the iPhone 17 Pro’s massive camera bar.
Renders suggest that this expanded camera bar will still feature the triple-camera lens featured on the iPhone 11 Pro and later. However, additional modules such as the flash and LiDAR have been relocated to the opposite side of the phone.
While it is unknown why the camera bar is so large, it should provide some stability when you set your phone down. The unevenness generated by the camera bump has always caused the iPhone to shake, which I find extremely bothersome.
How other iPhone 17 models will change
Based on what we’ve seen thus far, the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max should have a somewhat similar look. The only significant difference is that the Pro Max is substantially larger and typically contains a few hidden features on the inside of the phone. However, from the exterior, everything should look very similar to the iPhone 17 Pro.
The normal iPhone 17 isn’t expected to change much, if all. Renders and dummy units already show the same vertically stacked camera configuration as the iPhone 16.
