The new Deadpool movie “Deadpool and Wolverine” is set to hit cinemas next week, and Marvel has just dropped a quirky new trailer. Packed with goofy jokes and snappy punchlines, the trailer gives fans a peek at Lady Deadpool and Cowboy Deadpool, alternate versions of the Merc with a Mouth.
It looks like Wade Wilson will join the Marvel universe alongside several other comic book characters. The previous teaser even featured Sabretooth, Wolverine’s notorious arch-enemy.
Originally part of the X-Men universe, Deadpool’s rights were held by 20th Century Fox. However, in 2019, The Walt Disney Company acquired the studio. This acquisition led to the mutants’ introduction in both Ms. Marvel and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, making Deadpool part of the MCU.
So, what does this mean for the third installment of his adventures, and when can we expect Wade Wilson back in cinemas? Find out below.

Deadpool 3 plot
The first teaser has revealed that the Time Variance Authority (TVA), the agency responsible for controlling timelines in the multiverse, will play a significant role in the new film. Fans of the Loki series will recognize the TVA, and it seems Deadpool will become well-acquainted with the Authority as well.
This development opens the door for the Merc with a Mouth to officially join the Marvel Cinematic Universe, an opportunity Wade Wilson is sure to seize. In the teaser, he humorously dubs himself the Messiah and Marvel Jesus, while expressing excitement about teaming up with the Avengers.
With Deadpool’s entrance into the MCU, we might see cameos from various superheroes, with the most anticipated being Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine.
Although Logan (2017) finished the mutant’s exploits, the multiverse concept permits filmmakers to revisit characters in different timelines. Wolverine in Deadpool 3 is likely to be a new rendition of the classic hero. This appears to be confirmed by Ryan Reynolds, who told ET Canada the following:
And what we pitched him was enough of a divergence from the character that he knows and the character that he’s left behind, that it gives him something completely new to play and something that he’s really excited to do.
According to the latest trailer, Deadpool will require Wolverine’s assistance to deal with enormous TVA-related concerns. Wade will discover Logan in a strange dimension, where a mysterious calamity occurred that the clawed superhero obviously failed to prevent.
According to the teasers, the film will also star Sabretooth, a psychopathic mutant who is Wolverine’s enemy.
The next Deadpool film will also feature various versions of the character. Lady Deadpool, the superhero’s female counterpart, will appear in the film, as will Cowboy Deadpool, also known as Deadpool Kid in comics. It is uncertain whether they will work with or against Wade Wilson.
Deadpool 3 cast
Ryan Reynolds will return as Deadpool, while Hugh Jackman will play Wolverine. The actors themselves announced his appearance.
We can expect the following cast members to reprise their roles:
- Leslie Uggams – Blind Al
- Karan Soni – Dopinder
- Morena Baccarin – Vanessa
- Stefan Kapicic – Colossus
- Brianna Hildebrand – Negasonic Teenage Warhead

- Rob Delaney – Peter
Zazie Beetz, who portrayed Domino, and Josh Brolin, known for his role as Cable, will not be returning in the new film.
Emma Corrin, renowned for her performance in Netflix’s The Crown, is set to play Cassandra Nova, a mutant with telekinetic and telepathic powers, serving as the film’s villain. Matthew MacFadyen, an Emmy Award winner for his role as Tom in HBO’s Succession, will also join the cast as Paradox, a TVA agent.
Interestingly, Deadpool 3 will see Jennifer Garner reprising her role as Elektra Natchios, a character she previously portrayed in the critically panned 2003 film.
There are also rumors that Deadpool 3 might feature Halle Berry as Storm, Tyler Mane as Sabretooth, and Channing Tatum as Gambit. Additionally, Daniel Radcliffe is heavily speculated to appear as another variant of Wolverine.
For a while, there were whispers about Taylor Swift starring in the film, but Entertainment Weekly has debunked those rumors.
