Leaked images of the Xiaomi 17T and Xiaomi 17T Pro have surfaced online, but the designs alone don’t seem to justify the rumored price increases over their predecessors.
As with previous generations, Xiaomi’s T-series is expected to deliver a more budget-friendly alternative to its flagship lineup — but that tradition may be shifting. Last week, early leaks revealed the specifications and pricing of both upcoming models, hinting at significant upgrades alongside a noticeable price bump.
Now, German tech outlet WinFuture has shared what appear to be official press renders of the Xiaomi 17T and Xiaomi 17T Pro, giving us our clearest look yet at the design of these highly anticipated smartphones.
At first glance, the Xiaomi 17T and Xiaomi 17T Pro look strikingly similar to their predecessors, the Xiaomi 15T and Xiaomi 15T Pro. The most notable design change is the removal of the raised camera module bevel, giving the new T-series a flatter, cleaner look that closely mirrors the standard Xiaomi 17.
On the color front, Xiaomi is introducing two distinct shades of blue — a lighter tone for the 17T and a deeper, darker hue for the 17T Pro — neither of which appeared on the previous generation. Both models will also be available in two pink variants and two black options, rounding out a refreshed and more diverse color lineup.

Xiaomi 17T upgrades
Based on these design leaks alone, Xiaomi doesn’t appear to be using bold aesthetics to justify the rumored €100 price increase over the previous generation.
Instead, the value proposition seems to lie under the hood. According to earlier reports, the Xiaomi 17T will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8500-Ultra, while the Xiaomi 17T Pro steps up to the more powerful Dimensity 9500 — a meaningful performance leap that could make the price bump easier to swallow.
Battery life is also set to see a significant boost across both models. The Xiaomi 17T will reportedly pack a 6,500mAh cell, while the Xiaomi 17T Pro steps up to an even larger 7,000mAh battery — a welcome upgrade for power users. On the charging side, the 17T retains 67W wired charging, whereas the Pro model jumps to a much faster 100W, making top-ups considerably quicker.
Camera improvements are also on the table. The Xiaomi 17T is rumored to feature an upgraded 5x optical zoom telephoto lens, offering sharper long-range shots, while the Xiaomi 17T Pro gains the new Light Fusion 950 main sensor — Xiaomi’s latest imaging hardware promising enhanced low-light performance and overall photo quality.
Beyond specs and design, the real driver behind the rumored price hikes is likely the global component market. Surging memory prices have put manufacturers in a difficult position, forcing many to either pass costs onto consumers or rethink their product launch strategies entirely — and Xiaomi appears to be no exception.
As for timing, rumors suggest the Xiaomi 17T could launch earlier than usual, potentially moving ahead of its typical September/October release window to as early as this month. However, given that the Xiaomi 17 series only reached Western markets in March, an imminent international release seems unlikely — European and global buyers should probably expect a longer wait.
